Q2 Rumors

Posted on Jun 8, 2007 by Registered CommenterTom in | CommentsPost a Comment

I'm curious about fundraising rumors reported by the Huffington Post:

The Huffington Post has learned from sources close to both candidates that the Obama campaign will surpass the Clinton campaign in second quarter fundraising.

Candidates are required to report contributions over $200 on a detailed basis in semi real time, and the FEC publishes this data every Sunday. (Summary totals are reported quarterly, including all contributions.) As a fun(?) exercise, I'm going to try to fact-check this claim on Sunday, when the new data set is available..
